This website is dedicated to presenting the best in up to date preparedness information, products and resources. I am not a survival expert; I am just a person who has awakened to see big trouble coming at us from several directions and not enough concern among the populace. So who do I think I am starting a website on a subject of preparedness? Well if you look through the pages you will notice that I point my visitors to the people who are knowledgeable and to sites that have the necessary resources. As I build the site I am learning, discovering and re-discovering and getting more and more prepared for what is to come. The Survivor’s Notebook articles come from this learning. I have tried hard to present useful and up to date factual information. I am learning more each day and will pass it along. I have been an electronic technician and computer system administrator most of my life, so I’ve got the technology part down pretty well. I have been around long enough to remember when our money was made of silver, so I have a good perspective of where we are headed and where we came from; I don’t like that direction, but I think only God can change that now. I was greatly privileged to serve my country in the US Navy having spent over two years in Gulf of Tonkin operations during the Vietnam War. I have traveled a bit in Asia and spent considerable time in third world countries as a civilian; long enough to know that America is a very special place, not because of its wealth, but because of its Liberty for the individual citizen. There is an old saying, "if you want something done right, you must do it yourself". That is true for disaster preparedness probably more than anything. Relying solely on government or the Red Cross may be a tragic mistake if these services are overwhelmed or unavailable. Being prepared yourself, you will more easily endure hardship while waiting for outside help to arrive and you will lessen the load on government and relief organizations. It's something that is easy to procrastinate on, but it should be a part of every household and every individual's life. It is our duty as citizens to be prepared. A prepared citizenry is a great obstacle to our enemy's foul plans. Murphy's law states; "If anything can go wrong it will and at the worst possible time". The only solution to that irrefutable law is simple preparedness. Tim W. Thomas tim@set2survive.com |
